Phylecia Miller

Phylecia Miller is a freelance writer and creator of Hi, Phylecia! A blog dedicated to her collection of narrative essays, reviews, and one-panel comics. With a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Ball State University and a Certificate in Screenwriting from UCLA Extension, Phylecia uses her skills to write about the world around her in a personable way. From her first overseas trip to a review about a new hip web series, Phylecia is always there to provide her readers with great and entertaining content. 

Originally from the Midwest, Phylecia currently works and plays in Vancouver, B.C. Her professional experiences include working for the review-aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes and the non-profit arts organization Film Independent. Her passions include visiting botanical gardens, going to art galleries, and of course, writing. You can find writings at The Young Folks.

Jules Rivera

Jules Rivera is the illustrator of Hi, Phylecia! A prolific illustrator, graphic novelist, colorist, animator, and writer, Jules is known as “a multi-talented force in indie comics” by SyFy Wire. She contributes to various projects such as the Eisner Award-winning Puerto Rico Strong and Ringo Award-winning Where We Live, A Benefit for the Survivors in Las Vegas. She is also the co-creator of Spectre Deep 6, a sci-fi graphic novel series by Turner publishing, Love, Joolz, a weekly autobiographical cartoon strip, and the feminist sci-fi epic, Valkyrie Squadron. Noteworthy clients include Mattel, IDW Publishing, and ComixTribe.

When Jules is not making incredible art, she is teaching storyboarding at California Lutheran University. A noted surfing and skate boarding enthusiast, Jules currently lives and works in Los Angeles. You can find more of her work at www.julesrivera.com
