Blogger of the Week: A Younger Skin

According to a report by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), 18.1 million cosmetic procedures were done in the United States in 2019 with people between the ages of 40-54 making up most of the demographics. Many of the surgeries include liposuction, nose reshaping, and yes, even facelifts. Though it is heartbreaking to see these numbers, it makes sense that these women (and men) seek out these operations since we live in a highly ageist world. Fortunately, there are safer ways for people to improve their skin health, and bloggers like Ann are leading the way.

Ann is the creator of A Younger Skin. A natural skin care blog, Ann dedicates herself to helping readers learn how to improve their skin as they age through natural, and most importantly, safe methods. With a bachelor of science in nutrition, the avid blogger shows how to age gracefully with posts related to vitamin C and moisturizers for people with sensitive skin. By focusing on natural skin care products and routines, Ann proves that women do not have to rely on harmful procedures like fillers and cosmetic surgery. Instead, they learn to love the skin mother earth gave them.

To learn more about Ann and her path to a more natural lifestyle, read her comments about her blog below.

Some of these answers were lightly edited for brevity and clarity.

Can you describe your blog?
My blog is all about skincare and natural anti-aging (no cosmetic injections), and I write about all the methods that have been working for myself [as a] 40-year-old without wrinkles. I am also a nutritionist and all my advice [is] science-based.

Why did you become a blogger?
I get questions daily about my skin and beauty secrets. So I thought it could be a good idea to simply share my tips and tricks on a blog. I also find it very fun to write, so I started about a year ago and will definitely continue.

What are your goals with your blog?
To provide a whole library with skincare-related knowledge, that is easily accessible for everyone. I find there is a lot of misleading information out there when it comes to skin care and skin aging.

When did you start blogging?

What makes your blog unique?
My blog is, what I know of, the only skincare blog that focuses on science-based methods and with only natural anti-aging tips. No botox, no fillers, etc.

What do you want readers to take away from your writing?
That you can indeed slow down, and even reverse to some extent, skin aging with the right lifestyle, products, diet, etc. And that natural beauty is what will give the best results in the long run.

Do you have any final words?
The way you treat your skin today will determine how it will look in the future. Always love your skin!
